A beautiful moment shared across all our schools marked the start of this academic year. Pupils across the Alleyn’s Schools Group received a simple gift with a powerful meaning — our founder’s favourite flower, the cornflower.

This tradition began with Year 7 Matriculation at Alleyn's School and now forms part of welcome ceremonies across the Group. This September, our new schools, Alleyn's Regent’s Park and Alleyn’s Oakfield, opened their doors. At each, Heads presented cornflowers to pupils: a gesture from Head to pupil that is both a gift and a symbol, affirming our connection to a long tradition and our shared mission to become “All We Can Be” both as individuals and as a community.

The cornflower embodies continuity, belonging and shared identity. It binds pupils to one another and to generations past and future, reminding us that while each path is unique, we grow together.
