In 1619, the celebrated Elizabethan actor, entrepreneur and philanthropist Edward Alleyn founded the Alleyn's College of God's Gift in Dulwich, England, with the aim of providing an education for ‘12 poor scholars’. More than 400 years later, Edward Alleyn’s legacy is not only surviving but thriving, through the Alleyn’s Schools Group, an eminent collection of schools united by a belief in a holistic, values-led approach to education.
